This specialty includes the training of professionals capable of offering productive alternatives in the integral management of wildlife, with special attention to the protection and conservation of the habitat of the species. The courses of this specialty have an interdisciplinary approach in the analysis of the interaction and interdependence of the ecological, socio-economic, cultural and technological components in the management and conservation of tropical ecosystems.

The mission of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences is to provide a rigorous and stimulating research and training environment for UCC students. Our students provide the intellectual resources needed to advance the research and educational goals of the institution and to provide a new generation of scientists. The faculty is committed to excellence in interdisciplinary research training for qualified candidates who will continue to advance the fundamental knowledge needed to conquer disease and promote health and improved quality of life for all people. The knowledge and skills acquired will enable the graduate to be successful in biomedical research conducted at universities, government, and private industry laboratories, as well as in education. The program also prepares the graduate for advanced training and research. In the pursuit of this goal, there are departmental research laboratories furnished with high-quality equipment, supported by service and administrative areas in each department. A common instrumentation laboratory, a tissue culture laboratory, an electromechanical shop, an immunoretrovirology laboratory core facility, and a radioisotope laboratory supplement the above space. Each department is equipped with computer facilities.

Focus on Biochemistry and cell biology, immunology, scientific methodology, biostatistics, medical. bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, virology, diagnostic bacteriology.

A program that incorporates emerging trends in applied sciences, emphasizing the design of biomedical research, technical writing, administrative aspects of laboratories and personnel supervision, bioinformatics, and quantitative, qualitative, and mixed analysis. It is a two-year program, which contains a multidisciplinary curriculum that will prepare professionals to work in areas of science and health care in various corporations or professional organizations.

This program has emphasis on the management, conservation of ecosystems, wildlife and biodiversity; It consists of a total of 35 credits of which 17 are dedicated to core courses on basic aspects of environmental issues such as water, air, soil, legislation and experimental design; 12 credits include elective and specialization courses, and 6 credits are destined to boarding school (3), or group project under the supervision of a teacher (3) and / or the environmental assessment course (3).

This program may have an emphasis on chemical or biological analysis; It consists of a total of 35 credits, of which 17 are core courses on basic aspects of environmental issues such as water, air, soil, legislation and experimental design; 12 credits are for elective and specialization courses, and 6 credits are for the thesis.

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences presents an interdisciplinary curriculum, which works on developing the students’ knowledge, skills and fundamental attitudes of the marine sciences, and the application of these to environmental scientific research, to the management of marine resources, the responsible use of these, and the conservation of the marine and coastal ecosystems.

The Master of Science Degree in Biology offers two specializations: Molecular Biotechnology and Environmental and Ecological Sciences. The emphasis of these programs is to present an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on scientific reasoning to prepare students for work in the field of Biology dealing with the molecular aspects of biotechnology, ecology or the environmental sciences.

The Forensic Science Program presents an interdisciplinary program of studies that aims to develop in students the knowledge and fundamental skills necessary for the application of scientific methods used to contribute to the discovery of the causes, method and circumstances of violent deaths and other crimes.

This program may have an emphasis on research with a focus on Chemistry or Biology. It consists of a total of 56 credits, of which 17 are core courses on basic aspects of environmental issues such as water, air, soil, legislation, and experimental design; 18 specialization credits, and 21 credits are destined for research.
