We have been running educational projects since 1996 in the field of electroacoustic music, video art and design, presenting a special role in the faculty, where both of the fine arts and classical music students cooperate in the projects. With the BA in Electronic Music and Media Arts, we cover the gap in the study of electronic music and in a wider perspective, specialize in the arts of new media.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music provides a solid musical education, allowing you to explore your creativity and develop your technical abilities. You will study music theory, composition, conducting, music history, and forms of the medieval, baroque, pre-classical, romantic, and 20th-century periods.

This BA (Honours) in Arts and Humanities (Music) degree gives you the freedom to combine the study of different subject areas in the arts and humanities. You'll develop a specialism in music, exploring a range of musical styles, contexts and practical skills. You can combine this with a second specialism or choose to develop broader interests in art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language, English literature, history, modern languages, philosophy, and religious studies.

In this programme you will develop an understanding of how humans experience and perceive music, and why so many people love it so much. You will become an expert in several areas of music research, well-versed in various technologies used to study this fascinating topic. Our courses will provide you with valuable skills, transferable to a great number of exciting careers within the broader music, arts and culture sector, as well as academia.

The master’s course Music Therapy is designed for practicing music therapists who want to advance and innovate their musical, clinical and research skills in the creative and international environment that ArtEZ University of the Arts offers.

The MLitt in Sacred Music offers a unique interdisciplinary formation in Sacred Music for musicians, scholars, and leaders in artistic ministry. It is taught jointly by the School of Divinity’s Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts and the University of St Andrews Music Centre.

All Loras College students, regardless of major, have the opportunity to grow as musicians through participation in choral and instrumental ensembles, private lessons, general education offerings, and music liturgies. We offer a major in Music Studies and a major in Music Education. In addition, minors are offered in music, vocal music, and liturgical music.

In our Musicology & Ethnomusicology pathway, you can explore a wide range of music and approaches, while learning advanced skills in writing and research. Our Composition pathway allows you to both develop your compositional skills and explore other areas of music studies. You can also select from a wide range of modules across Arts & Humanities at King’s.
