4 Music Degree Programs in Hungary

We have been running educational projects since 1996 in the field of electroacoustic music, video art and design, presenting a special role in the faculty, where both of the fine arts and classical music students cooperate in the projects. With the BA in Electronic Music and Media Arts, we cover the gap in the study of electronic music and in a wider perspective, specialize in the arts of new media.

The EKCU Institute of Music offers a six-semester bachelor's degree program, where students study and experience a blend of Hungarian music education tradition and a 21st-century approach to music education and performance practice.

The goal of our BA in Classical Music Performance (Piano) in the field of classical music is to train professionals who shall be able to enrich and spread Hungarian and European music traditions via their performance as musicians. With the help of both the practical and theoretical knowledge acquired through the program, they shall possess refined taste as well as technical knowledge in music. All those awarded a BA degree shall be ready and able to serve in orchestras, choirs, and chamber ensembles alike. They shall be able to become genuine actors in the culture sector in institutions engaged in music. They will have the necessary academic, technical and professional knowledge to get admitted to master-level education in their field.

The aim of the program is to educate musicians who - with their performing skills, theoretical knowledge, and highly developed musical abilities - enrich and spread the Hungarian and European music culture. They can enrich the repertoire of musical knowledge with their sophisticated music taste and are able to work in music institutions, professional performance ensembles and in other occupations which require music education.
