Barranquilla is a musical city, the Coast is a musical region that feeds and grows on the rhythms created by empiricism and creativity typical of those who inhabit the Caribbean. The academic program of the CUR responds to a need to professionalize a profession that is practiced spontaneously; provide all those who feel and are curious about music, the theoretical and practical tools to act as ambassadors of our regional and national folklore, as good jazz improvisers as well as virtuous interpreters of the universal classical repertoire.
