11 Teaching MSc Degree Programs

The M.S. in Cultural Foundations of Education is designed to foster and support a fundamental inquiry into the nature of education. Students draw on history, philosophy, sociology and other disciplines to analyze such issues in education as inequality, disability, popular culture, mass media, the philosophy of multiculturalism and racism.

MSc Education (Teaching and Learning) This pathway is designed for those interested in teaching and learning and working with learners in educational settings across the sector. It is particularly suitable if you already hold master' s-level credits from a teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, and want to build on this foundation for your professional development.

The M.S. in Teaching and Curriculum is a 30 credit flexible degree program, which encompasses a number of fields of practice in education. Students with a strong interest or initial certification in a content or grade-level area can specialize in that area to further their knowledge and deepen their skills in teaching and development of curriculum.

On our MSc Education, you will gain an in-depth understanding of education as a field of study and you will explore connections between education and other social institutions that play a role in tackling education problems, from a comparative perspective. You will study complex issues faced by teachers, education leaders, and decision-makers in an increasingly globalised context.

The Master of Science in Teaching (MST): Subject Matter Education Program in English, Social Studies, Theatre and World Language offers the unique opportunity for graduate students to simultaneously pursue New Jersey teacher certification in English, Social Studies, a World Language (e.g., Spanish, German, American Sign Language, Chinese, etc.), or Theatre and a Master's degree in Education (MST). Students can complete the program in 12 months with 3 courses taken full year Clinical Practice (student teaching) experience in a NJ school. The MST Program includes all education coursework required for certification.
