The Master of Science in Synthetic Landscapes is a one-year, three-semester program focused on advancing knowledge and developing expertise in the design of complex landscapes for the twenty-first century.

This program offers a studio-based, interdisciplinary approach to design, tackling societal challenges. Established and innovative design concepts are incorporated in a unique collaborative setup across campuses.

The Sustainable Environmental Design (SED) programme leads to either an MArch (16 months) or MSc (12 months) degree. SED delves into real-life projects sited within a broad range of climates, building types and urban morphologies. The programme works to develop architecture that contributes to carbon-neutral futures and promotes inhabitant comfort, health and wellbeing. Our educational approach is research-led, evidence-based and practice-oriented.

The MSc in Design Thinking for Sustainability is a unique programme that bridges sustainability knowledge and skills, ensuring students begin to affect change within the programme and are ready to quickly transition to new roles and opportunities upon graduation.

Critically analyse the challenges faced by urban areas in designing sustainable, inclusive, and healthy urban environments, evaluating the effectiveness of various mitigation strategies. Students taking this programme will be at the cutting edge of this transition toward a more sustainable planet.

This program aims at providing a multidisciplinary background for architects, with a special focus on environmental sustainability and landscape design. The Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) is an International Master Program at Ain Shams University (ASU).

Buildings are responsible for a large share of our global energy use. Energy use is in fact the main determinant of a building’s global environmental footprint, considering its life span. Students graduate with advanced knowledge, skills and competencies within the area of energy-efficient and environmental building design in heating-dominated climates. Our goal is to train highly skilled professionals who will significantly contribute to and influence the design, building or renovation of energy-efficient buildings and relating to renewable energy supplies, taking into consideration the architecture and environment, the inhabitants’ behaviour, needs, health and comfort, as well as the overall economy.

The MS in Sustainable Building Technology is a 30 credit-hour post-professional degree program for practitioners in architecture, construction, engineering, and other allied fields.
