6 Sustainability MSc Degree Programs in Mexico

The program is focused on the comprehensive training of human resources at the postgraduate level, who, by becoming involved in knowledge generation, validation and/or transfer activities, as well as professional training, respond with innovative and knowledge-based proposals to the demands for a solution to the problem of animal production systems, the sustainable use and exploitation of natural resources in Chihuahua, in Mexico and even beyond its borders.

General objective: To train teachers of high academic-scientific level with an ethical attitude and social responsibility, capable of investigating and solving aspects related to the sustainable development of tourism, with a multi and interdisciplinary approach.

General objectives Expand and consolidate the knowledge about Marine Ecology and enable the student to develop multidisciplinary research work, applying scientific and technical knowledge in an innovative way, which can serve as a platform for doctoral studies.

Marine knowledge Since 1980, the graduate program in Marine Ecology has trained scientists who have excelled as researchers and professors in higher education institutions, as well as government employees and private sector entrepreneurs. The objective of the program is to train highly trained individuals to carry out theoretical and applied studies, contribute to the solution of environmental problems, and play a leading role in the advancement of scientific knowledge on various ecosystems. The lines of research range from the molecular and cellular scale to the sphere of communities and ecosystems. The main research areas are grouped into four lines of knowledge generation and application: Ecology of Coastal and Ocean Ecosystems Biological and fisheries oceanography. Use and conservation of marine resources. Biogeochemical processes and global change. The program includes compulsory and elective subjects for master's students, while courses for doctoral program students are established based on their research interests and in agreement with their thesis committee.

To develop high-level human resources in order to gain the scientific and technological knowledge necessary for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems related to ecology, conservation, and wildlife management. Thus through their work experience (in the private and public sector), they can have a positive impact on society at the regional, state, national, and international levels.

Currently, most of the global burden of the disease is due to environmental factors, among which are atmospheric pollution, exposure to wood smoke, pollution and water scarcity, exposure to radiation, metals, and chemicals ( pesticides and other persistent organic compounds), among others. To face this growing problem, it is necessary to quantify the impact that the environment has on health, carrying out more quality research that also allows us to face the challenges of globalization, and to be able to have the necessary evidence to contribute to prevention and decision-making.
