Each year, about 30 Master students begin their studies in the M.Sc program at the Racah Institute. The purpose of the master's program is to further develop knowledge and skills in physics and to prepare students for a professional career or doctoral studies. The program spans two years during which students take various advanced courses and carry out forefront research in the departments of Physics and Applied Physics.

The M.Sc. program in Physics offers a thesis (research) track and requires two years of full-time study. Outstanding students may enroll in the combined M.Sc.-Ph.D. track during the 2nd year of their M.Sc. studies. The Department of Physics maintains an extensive research program in all the major fields of Physics, including Astrophysics, High Energy Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Electro-Optics, and Biophysics. Our graduates can be found throughout all the ranks of universities, research institutes, and industry in Israel.

The Master of Science in Medical Physics combines in-depth knowledge and practical experience to educate and train qualified medical physicists in the areas of diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and radiation protection. The program aims at fulfilling the needs of the country for competent medical physics practitioners.

The two-year 120 ECTS MSc Program in Physics is designed to train students as competent physicists who would continue either with their Ph.D. studies for future academic appointments or turn to professional careers in the industry within research and development companies, or in the public sector.

Physics elucidates the basic laws of nature that govern the vast range from the microscopic world of atoms and electrons to the universe. In this course curriculum, you will learn physics in order from the basics. In addition to sophisticated lecture subjects, we will proceed with learning while checking the contents of the lectures in experimental subjects and practice subjects. The main subjects are mathematics, mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and the theory of relativity, which are necessary for physics. Based on these, we will understand the structure of elementary particles and the universe and the properties of matter.
