The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) and the University of Brescia in Italy collaborate to deliver the Master of Engineering in Industrial Production & Manufacturing (MEng IPM) at GUtech campus in Oman. This leads to issues like delay in construction, cost escalation, substandard construction quality, variations etc. Hence, it is very important to have a judicious control of the cost time and quality. Considering the above factors, Middle East College in partnership with Coventry University has taken the initiative to offer the ‘Master of Science (MSc) Programme in Construction Project and Cost Management’. The programme address to the rapid cultural change in the construction industry towards less adversarial approaches to project management and continuing professional development. The course will attract a wider range of construction professionals engaged in construction/project management, quantity surveying, civil and structural engineering, architectural technology, surveying and building services engineering. This course also addresses the core skills and competencies as set out by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for construction project managers, construction cost managers and quantity surveyors.

The student should complete the coursework requirements specified in the degree plan with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. For the thesis, the candidate is required to conduct the necessary literature review, undertake the research, analyze the results, write the report and communicate the results at an oral defense. This work need not necessarily be original research but should be a new application of ideas. The student should identify the research problem in consultation with the supervisor, which normally takes place in the second semester. The student should or can register for the thesis in the third semester after having completed at least 12 credits of the course work.

The Master of Science in Nursing Midwifery is a two-year full-time program. The program is designed to prepare graduates to perform advanced nursing roles in ethical decision-making, clinical practice, consulting, expert teaching and coaching, clinical leadership, collaboration, evidence-based practice, and research. The students are required to complete 28 credits of course work and a master’s level thesis of 6 credits in two academic years for full-time and 3 academic years for part-time. The student may only register for the thesis after completing 12 credits of coursework.

The Department of Natural Resource Economics provides a training to support the competitiveness and economic efficiency of Omani agriculture, fisheries and food industries through integrated educational and research programs. Through teaching and research activities, the Department applies economic theories to problems of social and economic development, natural resource and environmental management issues, including fisheries and water.
