Todos los estudiantes del Programa de Maestría deben serlo de tiempo completo, de acuerdo con el Reglamento General de Estudios de Posgrado del Cinvestav. El período mínimo requerido para obtener el grado de Maestro en Ciencias es de un año de estudios a tiempo completo y el máximo es de cinco semestres. La calificación mínima aprobatoria es de siete y el promedio mínimo para permanecer en el Programa es de ocho. Si el promedio es inferior a ocho en dos periodos consecutivos, el estudiante causa baja definitiva. Una calificación reprobatoria causa baja definitiva.
