Molecular Biotechnology is a graduate (second-cycle) program of studies that leads to a Magister degree (Polish equivalent of a Master's degree). The study program is made up of compulsory courses and elective courses. Compulsory courses allow broadening your theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the following areas: molecular biotechnology, genetic engineering, biochemistry, cell biology, medical biotechnology, plant biotechnology, bioinformatics, the application of biotechnology in environmental protection, and protection of industrial property and copyright.

In this interdisciplinary course, students will gain knowledge and skills in the area of advanced material science with a special focus on materials for medical applications.

The Graduate Program in Environment Protection Engineering aims at research and engineering activities concerning the mitigating of negative impacts of human activity on the environment. It is primarily addressed to the alumni of the undergraduate program in environmental engineering or other undergraduate programs in engineering, such as civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering.

The program contains a wide range of specialist subjects (modeling of bioprocesses, regulation of biotechnological processes, separation processes in biotechnology, laboratory of technological and biotechnological processes, biotechnology of natural resources, etc.), which, together with bioanalytical and elective subjects (bioanalytics, sensors, and biosensors, microbioanalytics) constitute a comprehensive offer for all graduates interested in the field of biotechnology.

Biotechnology is a field of study that combines technological competence with the ability to use living organisms in animal and plant production, environmental protection, food processing and production, biomaterials generation and many other domains. During your studies, you will acquire extensive knowledge and skills in the fields of biochemistry, microbiology, environmental protection, genetic engineering and many other technical and natural fields.

BIOSCIENCES The BioSciences major offers a rigorous exposure to the modern experimental and computational disciplines within Bioinformatics and Medicinal Chemistry fields. The curriculum includes upperlevel coursework in chemistry, physics, applied informatics, or bioinformatics allowing students to deepen their understanding of the intricate world of (nano) bio-oriented chemistry. Students have the opportunity to experience cuttingedge modern research within the faculty. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad and well-rounded education that will enable them to pursue a career in academia and pharmaceutical or IT industry. Speciality: Bioinformatics Bioinformatics constitutes an interdisciplinary research area, covering applications of computer science, chemistry, and biochemistry to solve biological problems, usually on the molecular level. Typical activities include analysis of information contained in literature, genetic and structural databases, prediction of protein structure, drug, and biocatalyst, or biosensor design. The curriculum introduces programming skills necessary for automation of database searches and analysis of numerical and bioinformatics data, including analysis of new genome sequencing (NGS) results. The study programme includes advanced computer programming as well as specialised molecular biology techniques which are highly valued in the present job market.

The graduate will obtain knowledge in environmental engineering and experience in the technology of environmental protection. They will be prepared for solving problems in sustainable development and technology and gaining information from the literature and other sources.
