The program is focused on the comprehensive training of human resources at the postgraduate level, who, by becoming involved in knowledge generation, validation and/or transfer activities, as well as professional training, respond with innovative and knowledge-based proposals to the demands for a solution to the problem of animal production systems, the sustainable use and exploitation of natural resources in Chihuahua, in Mexico and even beyond its borders.

To train specialists of the high level of educational and human quality in the areas of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Engineering, Food Sciences, or related areas, capable of carrying out scientific, technological, professional, and teaching activities in the chemistry of natural products and foods that contribute to the development of science and technology, and participate in the training of high-level academic human resources.

A long-range crop The breeding of aquatic species has not stopped growing. It is an activity that generates food, raw materials, and industrial products all over the world, but which in Mexico takes on special importance since it is one of the five countries with the greatest biodiversity on the planet. With more than 5.1 million square kilometers of marine surface alone, our country has a potential based on hundreds of plant and animal species. Thanks to this, the study of organisms from microalgae to fish allows the production of food more efficiently, both for the national market and for export. And because generating knowledge in the field of genetics, molecular biology, virology, among many others, is a permanent need for this sector, higher education institutions assume their role of providing tools to promote and strengthen it. Accordingly, the Master of Science in Aquaculture trains qualified people who, from the academic, governmental, or productive sectors, promote the growth of this sector. The knowledge that is developed in the coming years will be decisive to increase the quality of the food and products that we offer to Mexico and the world.

To develop high-level human resources in order to gain the scientific and technological knowledge necessary for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems related to ecology, conservation, and wildlife management. Thus through their work experience (in the private and public sector), they can have a positive impact on society at the regional, state, national, and international levels.

General objectives Expand and consolidate the knowledge about Marine Ecology and enable the student to develop multidisciplinary research work, applying scientific and technical knowledge in an innovative way, which can serve as a platform for doctoral studies.

To train personnel capable of teaching theoretical-practical courses at the bachelor's level in the field of Genetics and Molecular Biology, as well as participating effectively in carrying out scientific research work. Prepare students who are interested in continuing towards a career in scientific or technological research within a doctoral program in Genetics and Molecular Biology or in a field related to it.

Marine knowledge Since 1980, the graduate program in Marine Ecology has trained scientists who have excelled as researchers and professors in higher education institutions, as well as government employees and private sector entrepreneurs. The objective of the program is to train highly trained individuals to carry out theoretical and applied studies, contribute to the solution of environmental problems, and play a leading role in the advancement of scientific knowledge on various ecosystems. The lines of research range from the molecular and cellular scale to the sphere of communities and ecosystems. The main research areas are grouped into four lines of knowledge generation and application: Ecology of Coastal and Ocean Ecosystems Biological and fisheries oceanography. Use and conservation of marine resources. Biogeochemical processes and global change. The program includes compulsory and elective subjects for master's students, while courses for doctoral program students are established based on their research interests and in agreement with their thesis committee.

Train high-level professionals in the area of ​​Clinical Biochemistry, with a critical, creative, ethical, and purposeful attitude, with the ability to apply knowledge and skills, both in the field of scientific research and in the development and adaptation of technology, in the proposal of alternative solutions, before relevant regional, state and/or national problems, related to biological chemical aspects in the area of ​​health, both human and environmental.

The great demand for developing and optimizing processes in the industrial, food, agriculture, health and molecular diagnosis sectors, among others, has promoted the incorporation of biotechnological techniques for the generation of new products and services. In this way, the development of biotechnological processes manages to benefit a large segment of the population given its vast range of application. Professionals graduated from the Master of Science with a specialty in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey, are capable of functioning in academic, scientific and industrial environments, both in the application and in the generation of knowledge.

Currently, most of the global burden of the disease is due to environmental factors, among which are atmospheric pollution, exposure to wood smoke, pollution and water scarcity, exposure to radiation, metals, and chemicals ( pesticides and other persistent organic compounds), among others. To face this growing problem, it is necessary to quantify the impact that the environment has on health, carrying out more quality research that also allows us to face the challenges of globalization, and to be able to have the necessary evidence to contribute to prevention and decision-making.

The purpose of the Master in Food Science is to study the aspects that have to do with the use, characterization, and conservation of agri-food products and by-products, to respond to social demands and face the challenges posed by the transformations of the contemporary world in the food field.

To train human resources of high academic quality in biotechnology, based on the acquisition of basic theoretical and disciplinary knowledge applied to experimental work that allows them to support basic and/or applied research projects in the environmental, agricultural, and health areas, as well as how to carry out scientific dissemination tasks.
