The Environmental Science MSc program is a complex interdisciplinary research module with environmental awareness. Our courses are aimed at improving understanding of the environment and the processes that support life on Earth. We are particularly interested in the impacts of human activity in the world around us and in developing ready-to-use approaches for achieving environmental sustainability.

The MSc in Survey Statistics and Data Analytics also provides students with practical knowledge that introduces them to the entire process of data analytics (project management, data collection, data visualization, and business communication). The programme is recommended for applicants seeking a complex programme that is flexible while providing a solid foundation in data analytics.

ELTE's Health Policy Planning and Financing MSc program approaches health policy and its financing with a transdisciplinary social science perspective, including not only the main orienting knowledge of economics, health- and public policy, finance and statistics but also in a holistic view of health and wellbeing other disciplines like sociology, epidemiology, psychology and legal-ethical knowledge are integrated into its curriculum. It will also focus on the different stakeholders involved in healthcare planning and management, financing and delivery at local, regional, national and international levels.

In everyday life, we all use geoinformation systems in an unnoticed and self-evident way. Geoinformatics is essentially dealing with the management and processing of spatial data, but also includes map visualization, primary and secondary data collection procedures, and geographic analysis.

The goal of this program is to train professional physicists who have a broad overview of contemporary physics and are able to join research on their specialized fields. This program is recommended to applicants who already have their BSc in physics and want to be research physicists by deepening their knowledge.

The program gives a comprehensive knowledge of several areas in mathematics and introduces the students to doing research in theoretical and/or applied mathematics. Besides purely theoretical courses, many courses are application-oriented. Courses are offered in algebra, number theory, real and complex analysis, topology, geometry, probability theory and statistics, discrete mathematics and operations research but also in such interdisciplinary subjects as bioinformatics and theoretical computer science.

The objective of the Astronomy Master's Degree Program is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of astronomy including related interdisciplinary areas. Students will also acquire competencies in the wider field of scientific research, in the use of technical language, in teamwork and in the communication of scientific results, they will also develop an ability to resolve novel or unusual problems arising in a multidisciplinary context.

The goal of this program is to extend the knowledge of BSc level students, and to learn about different meteorological phenomena, their driving forces, and to gain knowledge on the state-of-the-art methodology that is used in the practice and also about climate change and its environmental consequences. Students have to learn about the multidisciplinary nature of meteorology and the possible connections with different other scientific fields and sectors.

Students participate in intensive advanced and high-level courses in the different fields of biology, which are the most relevant for their specialization, to make them informed about the recent developments and frontline problems. Some 60 % of the time is practical hours (spent on laboratory/field practice and on research) ensuring knowledge of state-of-the-art methods. The curriculum is assembled from intensive advanced level courses on the theoretical aspects of selected disciplines and special seminar series on problems in a narrower field of science.

The goal of this program is to give an advanced level knowledge in the major fields of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. The program involves obligatory lectures and laboratory practices in all four fields. (Semi)elective courses offer the opportunity of tuning the program content according to interest.

The program provides advanced training in geology, applicable to geological problem-solving. Our graduates have a solid foundation of knowledge in the different core disciplines of geology sciences (mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, and paleontology), complemented with advanced skills through specialized studies in selected areas. The field component includes a three-week geological mapping field school.
