This degree is geared to train students in bioscience and health policy with the intent of creating new options for science students interested in working in healthcare management, for the government, or in governmental relations positions at non-profit organizations, industry, and academic institutions.

The University of Texas School of Biomedical Informatics at Houston offers a Master's Degree in Biomedical Informatics with two tracks: the research track and the applied biomedical informatics track. Both tracks provide students with the knowledge and skills to deliver innovative solutions to real-world health information technology problems.

UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston offers a new master of science degree in dental hygiene (MSDH), opening new doors for those who already have a bachelor’s degree, even in another field. A master’s degree gives a dental hygienist the education and credentials to direct a dental hygiene program or assume other administrative roles. It broadens opportunities to work in sales or oral health research.

The Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics degree program provides training in research design, basic statistical theory, data analysis, computer applications, and statistical consultation. Graduates of the program are prepared to assume statistical posts in government, private health agencies, or in health research programs.

The University of Texas Genetic Counseling Program (UTGCP) offers a challenging and unique program in genetic counseling, which is administered through the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in association with the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the McGovern Medical School.

Education at the master’s level prepares graduates to assume leadership roles in clinical practice, nursing administration and nursing education. Advanced nursing practice graduates are prepared for entry into the Doctoral of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, and all graduates are prepared for higher education in the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) program.

Students pursuing the MSN will choose from one of six clinical tracks. Most programs offer courses both online and face-to-face, allowing students flexibility with their busy schedules while maintaining a dynamic class experience that includes in-class time to demonstrate skills, dialogue with colleagues, and receive mentorship and guidance from our highly regarded and recognized faculty.

The Baylor College of Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics Program is the only academic program in the nation in which the dual clinical residency requirements are included. Program graduates are eligible to sit for both Orthotics and Prosthetics board certification exams upon completing their M.S. degree.
