The MSc in Data Science program brings together the expertise of three departments in the University of Cyprus – Business and Public Administration, Computer Science, and Mathematics and Statistics – to prepare the next generation of data-oriented thinkers.

The MA in English Studies offered by the Department of English Studies at the University of Cyprus is a conventional 2-year MA program that carries 120 ECTS in total. In each of the first three semesters of study, students are required to register for three courses of 10 ECTS each.

The MSc in Behavioural Economics is offered jointly by the Department of Economics and the Department of Psychology. It is designed to prepare students for career paths that require the analysis of human behavior (product/service design, human resources management, policy-making, etc.)

The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences aims to provide students with a high-quality education of international standing so that they can develop a deep understanding of their science and versatile thinking, something critical for their professional career in the modern environment.

Cognitive systems form a new generation of systems that aim to collaborate with their users at a level cognitively compatible with a non-computing expert to provide personalized and adaptive services, with each party, system and human, learning and adapting to the capabilities of the other.

The M.Sc. in Biodiversity Conservation program has a duration of 3 academic semesters (and up to 8 semesters for part-time study) and requires the completion of 90 ECTS. It combines a course component of 60 ECTS in total for which each student can choose from a list of Restricted Elective Courses (see Postgraduate Prospectus) as the series of compulsory departmental postgraduate seminars.

The main objective of the Master of Science in Computer Engineering/Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering program is to educate and train in-depth engineers in various fields of computer engineering, who will subsequently be able to solve advanced computer engineering problems using software tools and state-of-the-art equipment. The Master’s Program in Environmental Engineering of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is designed to equip its graduates with the expertise, the soft and hard skills necessary to address the ongoing and future environmental challenges threatening the security and resilience of the ecosystem, and the societal wellbeing. These challenges, aggravated by the changing climate, include, for example, atmospheric and air pollution, deterioration in water quality, urban waste treatment, environmental pollution, erosion of the coastline and decarbonization of the energy nexus.

The Department of Architecture offers a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Studies that aims to create a flexible research and design experimentation platform, based on (i) History, Theory, and Criticism in Architecture, (ii) Digital Technologies and Communication Media in Architecture, (iii) Construction Technology and Sustainable Design, and (iv) Urban Design and Planning.

There are professional opportunities for civil and environmental engineers in both private practice and public services. Graduates from the Master’s program in “Civil Engineering” may pursue careers in design, construction, maintenance, management, or research and development. For example, in urban or developing population areas and industrial centers, civil and environmental engineers serve the public as planners, designers, and supervisors of transportation systems, water resources projects, pollution control facilities, and private and public utility enterprises.

The program of study is structured to offer students a comprehensive education in Materials Science and Engineering and equip them for successful careers in the fields of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology. The courses, taught by renowned faculty members with backgrounds in materials science, chemistry, physics, and electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering, are designed to not only teach fundamentals but also to prepare students to apply modern-day approaches to materials problems in order to enable them to synthesize improved materials in response to challenges in the areas of energy, the environment, and manufacturing. Collaborating with industry, the government, and other departments and institutions, the research contributes to a broad range of fields and allows the exploration of relationships between processing, structure, and properties in all classes of materials, including metals, ceramics, polymers, electronic and biomaterials.

With a focus on high-level education, the program emphasizes the development of scientific thinking, critical analysis, and the practical application of research methodologies. By providing training in all methodological aspects of medical research and support for doctoral studies, the program aims to enhance graduates' ability to contribute meaningfully to the improvement of medical practice and population health.

The objective of this Master's program is to train young scientists with up-to-date knowledge and techniques in the fast-growing (and of particular importance for society) field of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology. The students are specialized in one of the research areas of the program with the aim to create proper conditions for a successful professional career in the public or private sector, in industry or in research organizations.
