MSc in High-Performance Computing and Machine Learning is a unique course in Cyprus (former Simulation and Data Science MSc) that combines computational modelling, large-scale simulations, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and their applications across disciplines.

The MSc in Data Science program brings together the expertise of three departments in the University of Cyprus – Business and Public Administration, Computer Science, and Mathematics and Statistics – to prepare the next generation of data-oriented thinkers.

The MA in English Studies offered by the Department of English Studies at the University of Cyprus is a conventional 2-year MA program that carries 120 ECTS in total. In each of the first three semesters of study, students are required to register for three courses of 10 ECTS each.

This is a unique program in Cyprus and the region, which aims to provide new scientific knowledge that will enrich and enhance the research and academic careers of its participant students. Furthermore, the postgraduate program will equip students with a wide range of transferable practical skills that will give them a significant advantage in the current and future competitive labor market. The program’s goal is to prepare students for careers as scientists and experts in Cultural Heritage with a strong background in digital tools and scientific methods. Graduates of the program will be competitive to pursue work in the private or public sectors of Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, History, Art Architecture, Museum Studies, or the Study, Rehabilitation, and Management of the Historical Structured Environment.

The MSc in Behavioural Economics is offered jointly by the Department of Economics and the Department of Psychology. It is designed to prepare students for career paths that require the analysis of human behavior (product/service design, human resources management, policy-making, etc.)

The MSc in Shipping Operations & Management is unique, innovative, and global by design, world-class in quality, and affordable in cost. The program is unique in the region and possibly globally in being designed to cater to the needs of participants and employers through purely shipping-related courses.

The MSc/MPhil in Environmental and Energy Sciences promotes research excellence and educates students on the scientific frontiers and advanced methodologies at the vanguard of interconnected issues related to Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences, Water Sciences, Energy and Sustainability.

The MSc programme in Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences of the Department of Biological Sciences aims at providing students with high quality educa on of international standing, so that they can develop a deep understanding of their science and vice versa, thinking, something critical for their professional career in the modern environment. 

The aim of the new MSc Artificial Intelligence programme, starting in September 2022, and which will be delivered in English, is to be a modern programme, containing a strong interdisciplinary element as required by human-centric, explainable, and responsible artificial intelligence.

Cognitive systems form a new generation of systems that aim to collaborate with their users at a level cognitively compatible with a non-computing expert to provide personalized and adaptive services, with each party, system and human, learning and adapting to the capabilities of the other.

The M.Sc. in Biodiversity Conservation program has a duration of 3 academic semesters (and up to 8 semesters for part-time study) and requires the completion of 90 ECTS. It combines a course component of 60 ECTS in total for which each student can choose from a list of Restricted Elective Courses (see Postgraduate Prospectus) as the series of compulsory departmental postgraduate seminars.

The Master’s Program in Environmental Engineering of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is designed to equip its graduates with the expertise, the soft and hard skills necessary to address the ongoing and future environmental challenges threatening the security and resilience of the ecosystem, and the societal wellbeing. These challenges, aggravated by the changing climate, include, for example, atmospheric and air pollution, deterioration in water quality, urban waste treatment, environmental pollution, erosion of the coastline and decarbonization of the energy nexus.

The main objective of the Master of Science in Computer Engineering/Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering program is to educate and train in-depth engineers in various fields of computer engineering, who will subsequently be able to solve advanced computer engineering problems using software tools and state-of-the-art equipment. In this problem-solving process, technological constraints and constraints inherent to the problem at hand, both in terms of hardware and software, are taken into account. The Department of Architecture offers a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Studies that aims to create a flexible research and design experimentation platform, based on (i) History, Theory, and Criticism in Architecture, (ii) Digital Technologies and Communication Media in Architecture, (iii) Construction Technology and Sustainable Design, and (iv) Urban Design and Planning.
