The consecutive master's program "Integrated Plant and Animal Breeding" uses an interdisciplinary and research-oriented approach to convey the basic theories, methods, processes and issues of breeding in agricultural and forestry sciences. The main objective of the Master’s Degree in Zootechnics is to contribute to the scientific and technological development in this field of knowledge, increasing efficiency and sustainably establishing animal production. Other specific objectives of the program are: Research: develop the main animal production systems in the region influenced by the program; identify the main problems which need scientific and technological development; bring technological development to the region through scientific actions. Class education: develop professionals at a Master’s level so that they can meet the demands of (private and public) education institutions concerning teaching, research, and community outreach in the field of Science and Animal Technology. Community outreach: promote inter-institutional and multidisciplinary actions of applied research, approaching not only problem diagnosis but also scientific solutions for issues regarding animal production systems in the region.
