Exchange students, join our Engineering Programme ! Our programme prepares students to occupy managing positions in professional organizations, public institutions, companies and laboratories of the agriculture and food sectors.

The progress of all master's candidates is monitored biannually by the supervisor and the postgraduate coordinator. A candidate's study may be terminated if the progress is unsatisfactory or if the candidate is unable to finish his/her studies during the prescribed period.

In this Master's program, the major “Forests and their environments (FEN)” consists of one semester of courses displayed in English and open to international students.

Graduate study offered in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences leads to the Master of Science in Plant and Soil Sciences degree with concentrations in Agronomy and also to the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Plant and Soil Sciences with a concentration in Agronomy. The Agronomy graduate program emphasizes research to increase the production efficiency of agronomic crops and improve the quality of food, feed, and fiber.

The aim of the program is to train agricultural biotechnology engineers, who are competent in the field of biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, traditional and molecular genetics, transgenic breeding, reproduction biology and dissemination biology and familiar with the practical laboratory skills.

The program - based on agricultural, economic, management and rural sociology studies – focuses primarily on the understanding of the current problems of sustainable development and rural regions, the cooperation in the possible directions of development, the preparation of actual development projects, as well as the management and monitoring of project implementation.

The MSc Viticulture and Oenology equips students with an in-depth, critical understanding of viticulture and oenology, an awareness of current research and advanced scholarship, and an ability to apply their knowledge to complex decisions unpredictable circumstances.

The combination of water scarcity, poor soils, hyper-arid environment and projected climate change impact in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC) constrain local agriculture production in meeting the food demand of the current and growing population.

The Department offers the only Plant Pathology graduate program in the state. It is accredited through the Graduate School of the University of Arkansas by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
