The Course, direct heir of a similar course born together with the University a century ago, aims to train qualified professionals in the sectors of Maritime and Air Navigation Sciences, Meteorology and Oceanography.

The Master of Science program in Environmental Meteorology and Climate Physics is a double degree jointly offered by the University of Trento and the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Upon fulfilment of all the requirements, graduates will obtain two distinct degrees, one from each university. The program courses cover a variety of topics related to atmospheric and climate processes and their connections with environmental systems.

The goal of this program is to extend the knowledge of BSc level students, and to learn about different meteorological phenomena, their driving forces, and to gain knowledge on the state-of-the-art methodology that is used in the practice and also about climate change and its environmental consequences. If you are fascinated by storms and tornadoes, then studying MMet Meteorology and Climate for a year in Oklahoma will be the perfect chance to study severe weather systems up close. The first two years are identical to the BSc Meteorology and Climate course and will cover all aspects of meteorology and climate, including atmospheric science and oceanography.

The option involves extensive coursework in meteorology, physics, and mathematics, as well as first-hand experience in applying basic concepts to real world situations. Internship programs are available with private industry, the National Weather Service, or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. In addition there are regular opportunities to work in University laboratories and the State Climate Office.
