The 6‑year MD degree at the Medical University of Warsaw prepares future doctors through world‑class pre‑clinical and clinical training, and leads to an internationally recognized medical diploma accepted across the EU, USA, Canada, and many other countries. The Division offers a medical program for high school graduates and for college/university graduates. The curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine consists of six years of medical courses. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is entitled to receive an MD diploma (title of physician “LEKARZ”).

Medical Doctor: A Profession of Public Trust. The profession of physician is highly prestigious and enjoys social trust, however there are fewer and fewer practitioners in the field. This shortage will soon be a serious problem. In July 2015, Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University obtained the necessary entitlements to offer medical studies and commenced educating future doctors in October 2016. This is the very first non-public university in Poland to do so.

School of Medicine is running full-time studies – at the six-year Medical Doctor Program in English (12 semesters). The university uses international education standards to prepare prospective doctors for medicine in the 21st century. The extended curriculum is based on strict European and U.S. standards and integrated educational experience. All lectures, seminars and practical training are conducted in English. Students have plenty of opportunities to join research teams in many academic departments, get experience in research. Studies of the Medical Program are preparing to work in the medical profession. Students enquire about the skills of interviewing the patient, examination, proper diagnosis, and treatment of the patient, and provide them with the necessary assistance. During the studies, students gain knowledge and practical skills in prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation which are necessary to practice medicine, further training, and further research. Students learn the moral principles of conduct towards patients and their rights, rules of professional doctors co-operation and moral norms in medical research. Is aware of the legal and professional responsibility. After graduation student has theoretical knowledge and practical skills to practice medicine, also has the opportunity to specialize in different areas of medicine. After graduation students will receive a diploma of Medical Doctor (MD), which allows for applying for a license to practice medicine in the USA, Canada, Europe, and many other countries.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the Medical University of Warsaw is recognized as Poland’s leading institution in the field of dentistry. Since 2020, students have been educated and trained using world-class equipment at the ultra-modern University Dental Center, located on WUM’s main campus.

A student of the Medical programme will possess knowledge in the field of prevention and treatment. The graduate will be able to analyse and evaluate medical problems, determine priorities in medical management, assess life-threatening conditions requiring immediate medical intervention, plan diagnostic procedures and interpret their results, as well as implement appropriate and safe therapeutic procedures and predict their consequences.
