Although this course teaches the vocabulary and terminology of Medical English, in our multicultural world, this is, of course, not enough. A key aspect of this course is knowing how to use this new vocabulary as part of your overall English skills in various environments. Medical professionals find themselves in a wide range of situations across cultures, each of which presents itself with important linguistic and stylistic differences.

TRANSMED accepts students from suitable educational backgrounds, such as life sciences and natural sciences, engineering, psychology etc. Students’ diverse backgrounds together with their TRANSMED studies give them a unique skill set for future careers. The Master in Translational Medicine curriculum is organized in close collaboration with researchers and units in the Faculty of Medicine and the Helsinki University Hospital, culminating in clinical rounds in the Helsinki University Hospital.

This program in Doctor of Pharmacy in Englishprovides complete theoretical and practical training in pharmacy. The holder of the degree is entitled to bear the doctoral title (Dr. Pharm). The Hungarian pharmacist MSc diploma is internationally accepted in the EU and in several other countries, international regulations may require pharmacists - similarly to other professionals - professional and/or language examination, practical training, studies, etc. for licensure.

Medical terminology is the study of the rules of medical word building. Receive a thorough grounding in basic medical terminology through a study of root words, prefixes and suffixes.

Medical Interpreters work at hospitals, schools, clinics, mental health facilities, and doctors' offices. They can also work as independent contractors for the many agencies, both local and nationwide. At hospitals, interpreters are required to work in various departments to facilitate communication between patient and provider.

The Medical Office Management program provides students with training in all areas necessary for medical office management, including terminology, records management, and ethical issues.

Students who earn the Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Applications Diploma will meet the requirements to be employed as an Orthotic/Prosthetic Assistant or enter a Baccalaureate degree or a Master’s degree in Orthotics Prosthetics.
