The Winter School is dedicated to PhD students who perform their research activities in the field of fluid machinery and energy systems engineering, including turbomachinery, internal combustion engines, energy conversion systems, power plants, renewable energy systems and innovative energy systems.

Mechanical Design - Industrial Engineering - Manufacturing

The MSc in Mechanical Engineering program requires a solid background in Mathematics, Physics, Principles of Electricity, Thermodynamics, General and Applied Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Manufacturing Technologies, Production Systems, and Materials. A Committee will evaluate students with different backgrounds case by case.

The Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering provides advanced training for highly qualified professionals with strong analytical, numerical, and technical-scientific skills. The Master in Control Engineering introduces the student to the basic methodologies of Automatic Control such as: - modeling and identification of dynamic systems; - measurement processing and online filtering of sensor data; - use of feedback to stabilize the behavior of a process and optimize its performance; - integrated design of automatic control systems.

The Master's Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering provides its graduates with adequate preparation on scientific and technical topics, together with general methodologies, which integrate skills and knowledge already acquired with the achievement of the first level degree in Industrial Engineering. Furthermore, the course of study provides specific professional skills in the sectors of mechanical engineering and energy. In particular, the training course is developed on two curricula, the first relating to mechanical design and prototyping and the second focused on energetics.
