The Emerging Leader MBA program is designed for those transitioning directly from a four-year undergraduate degree, early career professionals, and those with little business background. It can be completed in just one year, depending upon prior completion of foundational undergraduate business classes, or students may take up to three years to complete if attending part-time.

Students will learn about a variety of topics under the finance umbrella, including financial analytics and modeling techniques, as well as the fundamentals of accounting and financial reporting. Courses will also cover topics on portfolio management, corporate financial strategies and financial forecasting.

Students will learn about a variety of accounting topics, including financial statement analysis, cost management, budget, forecasting and internal control systems. Courses will also cover the principles of taxation, including tax planning and compliance, as well as the auditing process and the regulatory environment.

Students will learn about a variety of topics under the marketing umbrella, including marketing analysis and planning, as well as the principles of marketing research and consumer behavior. Courses will also cover topics such as the development and management of brands, pricing strategies, and the use of various marketing channels and communication tools.

Students will learn about the fundamentals of strategic management, including how to develop and implement business strategies, analyze market trends, and identify opportunities for growth. They will also explore the key principles of organizational behavior, including motivation, communication, and teamwork, and how these principles can be applied to create a positive and productive work environment.

Upon completion of the economics specialization, graduates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a variety of business settings, including finance, consulting, and government. They will have a deep understanding of the economic factors that influence business decisions and be able to use this knowledge to drive growth and success for their organizations.

Through a combination of coursework, experiential learning opportunities, and international immersion experiences, students gain the knowledge, skills, and cultural competence necessary to succeed in a dynamic and diverse business environment. Key topics covered include international trade, global supply chain management, cross-cultural communication, and strategic management in a global context.

The curriculum focuses on key areas such as nonprofit governance, fundraising and development, financial management, program evaluation, and strategic planning. Students will also gain a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that exist within the nonprofit sector, including working with diverse stakeholders, managing limited resources, and navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks.

In addition to developing the skills needed to start and grow new businesses, students in the innovation & entrepreneurship specialization also learn how to be effective leaders and communicators. They gain an understanding of how to build and manage teams, negotiate with stakeholders, and pitch their ideas to investors and customers.
