The MBA has established itself as a highly regarded, respected post-graduate qualification, which offers a candidate a profound understanding of business practices, along with skills in operational management, team leadership, and strategic planning. Such a multi-disciplinary approach to the application of the law would provide a formidable edge within the client relationship. The MBA Legal Leadership seeks to provide students with the commercial awareness and business knowledge skills to lead a modern law firm or department, by enhancing the classic MBA with modules on Sustainable Finance, Digital Marketing and Legal Leadership.

The Juris Doctor Master of Business Administration gives students exposure to theoretical learning and professional practice in the disciplines of law and business. It is an Australian Qualifications Framework Level 9 master's qualification that provides an alternative pathway to a legal career for graduates of disciplines other than law.

Santa Clara Law and the Leavey School of Business offer two joint degree programs for eligible law students. The J.D./MBA and J.D./MSIS joint degree programs are designed to be primarily 3.5- to 4-year full-time programs. The programs are available only to SCU School of Law and Leavey School of Business students who have been accepted by both schools for participation in one of the programs. Law students must apply to the Leavey School of Business during their first year of law studies. Students must enter the program before they have completed 45 law school units. To receive credit toward the J.D. degree from courses taken in the business school, students must have completed 78 units of law courses and be within two courses of completing the business degree.

At the end of the Master (MBA) in Business Law and Public Relations study program, graduates will combine theory with their own work experience and display a sound knowledge of Business Law and Public Relations.
