The Ph.D. Program in Applied Mathematics for Economics and Management is designed to meet the needs of those who wish to enhance their knowledge of mathematical methods and techniques in order to make original contributions in a particular field or to develop and implement solutions for problems in the areas of Economics and Management.

The Master's degree in Mathematics and Applications, in addition to the possibility of pursuing studies in doctoral programs, aims to provide the required capabilities to solve a wide range of problems in business, industrial and service institutions that require advanced data analysis or model analysis techniques, such as consultancy, software development, insurance, banking and finance, logistics, telecommunications, industrial and technological development centers, among others.The students of this master's degree have interned in recognized companies in those sectors of activity.

The Advanced Formation Course in Mathematics at the University of Aveiro (CFAMat-UA) allows for a more advanced scientific training, or an additional training in Mathematics, and diploma conferring. It is aimed at candidates with a master's degree in mathematics (or in a relevant related area) who seek a more advanced scientific training of shorter duration, less expensive, and with possibility for a future application to the Doctoral Program in Mathematics at the UA.

The Master in Mathematics for Teachers is an opportunity for teachers to enrich their knowledge on mathematics topics related to the syllabus of elementary and secondary education.

The Doctoral Program in Mathematics of Aveiro University (DPMat-UA) offers a doctoral course that has as main goal the training of high qualified researchers in Mathematics. This doctoral course is in line with the requirements of Bolonha model adopted by the University of Aveiro. The Master in Data Science, a partnership between the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics (DETI) and the Department of Mathematics (DMat), allows strengthening the knowledge and skills in data exploration and machine learning, with an emphasis on extracting actionable information from large-scale data. The Masters combines knowledge from the basic areas of Data Science, namely Mathematics and Informatics, providing both the theoretical foundations and the computational skills necessary for its application to different types of data and contexts.

Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (NN) aim to understand, control and manipulate the matter at a nano-scale (typically from 1 to 100 nm) where unique physicochemical and biological phenomena take place, which can be explored in new applications. The DP in NN aims to train highly qualified specialists able to master concepts across conventional areas of knowledge and to design future developments in NN, while promoting/undertaking productive and transformative activities, and also contributing to environmental sustainability and social progress. The DP in NN intends to:

Complement the Bachelor in Engineering Physics, Physics or other applied Physics/Engineering Physics formation, with advanced contents in Condensed Matter Physics and Nano-sciences; Photonics and Optoelectronics; and with a reasonable number of elective courses that allow students to choose part of their formation track. These elective courses may be chosen in the principal subject of the Program or in complementary areas like Mathematics, Mechanical and Electrotechnical Engineering, Chemistry, Management.

The specialization course falls upon the different areas of Optics, with potential interest to different types of companies. It aims to promote the interaction between the university and industry, through training, completing the education offer of the University of Aveiro, with special focus on the areas related with Engineering physics, biomedical, mechanics, chemistry, and electronics, in topics such as optoelectronics, applied optics, materials science, sensors, communications, among others.

The Ph.D. Program in Sustainable Chemistry is a multidisciplinary program in the wide field of Chemistry, focusing on sustainable research strategies for the development of new products and processes providing solutions to both, the present and medium-term requests of the Chemical Industry, and societal needs.

This MSc course is addressed to students holding the first cycle in Chemistry or related areas, and features a sound chemistry education at the second cycle level, with continuity, scientific and pedagogic consistency and with a curriculum structure flexible to be adapted to the evolution of the market needs. The objectives of this Master are:
