The LeaDS - Learning, Digitalization, and Sustainability (One Year) program is based on frontline research in digitalization and education. In close collaboration with society, you will apply research to diverse educational settings, where the analytical focus will be on sustainable and ethically defendable learning designs. The programme works at the intersection of media, communication, and language from the perspectives of social sciences, the humanities as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The area covers how digitalization processes can be implemented in sustainable and responsible ways.

Coastal Communities and Regional Development is an international, multidisciplinary master’s program on the development of rural and remote areas in the past and in the future.

Social sustainability and welfare management graduate is able to interpret social phenomena in a critical and reflective way. He also acquires the expertise to experiment programmes to protect the most vulnerable population groups through intervention aimed at social innovation, enhancing the relationship with the users of services, as well as with the network of public and private institutions at the local level.

The Global Studies: Sustainable Societies and Social Change (One Year) problems such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and increasing pollution add to existing problems with social inequalities and injustices. It is high time to reverse the current trend. To create sustainable societies and social change, the programme therefore uses applied research and is based on close cooperation between the academic world and society. For the thesis work, you will work independently but together with a host organisation (within the non-profit, public, or corporate sector) and with the support of a supervisor to develop and formulate a thesis project. The project will focus on creating sustainable societies and and contributing to long-term social change, as well as fulfilling the academic standard for a master's thesis at an advanced level.

This two-year Master’s programme provides an in-depth understanding of how public health can be promoted through socially sustainable development. You will gain knowledge of social, economic, political, and environmental factors affecting health, as well as of global change, health systems, and policy processes.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programme (EMJM) in Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Societies focuses on sustainability, artificial intelligence and data-driven decisions, and participatory design methods engaging citizens. The programme is designed together with three universities, Tallinn University, School of Digital Technologies, Tampere University, Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences and Lusófona University, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technologies. After completing the Master’s Programme, students understand and can use a participatory design approach for studying and designing AI and data-driven sustainable solutions for societies.

The Master in Communication, Development and Social Change is a four-semester academic program whose purpose is to train researchers and professionals with the ability to perform in multiple academic, political, business and community scenarios, who undertake communication plans and programs aimed at integral development , human and social.
