8 Ocean Engineering Master's Degree Programs

The objective of the international Master of Water and Wind Engineering is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the general field of environmental fluid mechanics and then to provide them with the opportunity to specialize in one particular aspect. Environmental fluid mechanics is indeed an important element of most large infrastructure projects (impact of wind on structures, transport and dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere, flooding of urban areas, erosion of our coastlines). The various predictions for the consequences of climate change all suggest that extreme events are likely to become more frequent and more intense. There is therefore a continuing need for highly-trained engineers, capable of understanding and modelling these phenomena in all their complexity.

This specialism in Marine Technology aims to give students advanced training on typical problems of free-surface hydrodynamics applied to ocean engineering: water waves, ship resistance, wave-structure interactions, moorings, behaviour and performance of marine structures including ships or offshore renewable energy systems ... physical, modelling, numerical and experimental aspects are studied.

A new 2 years master course (Laurea Magistrale LM-23) in Civil Engineering entitled Sustainable Coastal and Ocean Engineering will start at the new university branch at Ostia, just 30 minutes from the centre of Rome, in October 2021.

The programme focuses on the sea and the sustainable exploitation of its resources. Based in Ravenna, it is supported by the local industry, a world leader in the offshore sector. Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering（NAOE）at College of Shipbuilding Engineering (CSE) of Harbin Engineering University has more than 50 years history. Its predecessor is a key department, the Navy Engineering Department, of Harbin Military Engineering Institute, set up in 1953.

This program aims to cultivate future graduate students and help them grasp the fundamental theory of mathematics and mechanics, get an in-depth and systematic understanding of the knowledge and meet the research frontiers in the three majors - civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering.
