The Master of Music at the Prince Claus Conservatoire is an innovative master’s programme for students who are talented, passionate and socially engaged. Several study routes are available to you: Classical Music, New York Jazz, New Audiences & Innovative Practice (NAIP). Your professional practice as a musician is central to our programme. By integrating performance, entrepreneurship and research, the programme prepares you for the profession at the highest level and to respond to the challenges and opportunities in society at large.

Master in New Media Music Composition – students work on their own mature creative language by implementing advanced art projects including interactive music, sound installations, audiovisual compositions and activities in virtual spaces. They also delve into programming in sound art, artificial intelligence, generative art as well as extended and virtual reality (XR, VR). The course prepares students for careers in the professional markets of contemporary music, media and new technologies, but also further academic and artistic activity.

The Master in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation explores cutting-edge developments and forward thinking techniques in music and beyond. While strengthening sophisticated skills on the most current digital tools, students are challenged to disrupt the status quo while inventing the future of music.

The MLitt in Sacred Music offers a unique interdisciplinary formation in Sacred Music for musicians, scholars, and leaders in artistic ministry. It is taught jointly by the School of Divinity’s Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts and the University of St Andrews Music Centre.

The School of Music offers a Master of Music degree with concentration options in composition, conducting, music education, and performance. The program seeks to provide an opportunity for the highest level of musical development and professional training for each student, appropriate for careers in teaching, performance, and composition of music. Conducting majors will undertake a comprehensive study of the literature of their medium, develop advanced insights into the musical ideas and structure of the major works, and refine their conducting and rehearsal skills.
