8 Migration Studies Master's Degree Programs

The Seneca Institute's Master's Degree in Migration and Refugee Care trains professionals capable of responding sensitively and effectively to the complex challenges posed by current migration flows. This comprehensive training program provides care for and integration of migrants and refugees, from a humanitarian, social, and strategic perspective.

The International Migration and Global Social Change Master’s program trains specialists with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary understanding of migration and social changes in the contemporary world. It equips professionals to analyze the causes, consequences, and policies of migration, and to interpret the social and cultural transformations it brings. The program approaches migration from sociological, political, economic, legal, anthropological, and cultural perspectives.

The Master of Arts in Migration Studies is a two-year, 31-unit program that begins each fall. Come study with experts, network with colleagues, and work with government, nongovernmental organizations, and grassroots organizations. Complete a master’s thesis, applied project, or publishable article that speaks to your interests and career goals.

The Master's Degree in International Migration is offered by the University Institute for Migration Studies (taught at the IUEM) and has been an official degree from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas since the 2008-2009 academic year. During this time, the IUEM has prepared highly qualified professionals to develop their professional career in the field of international migration.

This unique joint programme is co-developed within the framework of the 4EU+ European University Alliance by the University of Milan, the Charles University of Prague and the University of Warsaw. It is taught in English and aims to provide students with an understanding of social and political opportunities and challenges posed by global and intra-EU migration. It provides skills to interpret complex political and socio-economic phenomena in a critical way and appraise their normative, social, political and anthropological implications.
