Learn more about Industrial and Product Design Master's degree programs

You'll move beyond aesthetics in a Master's in Industrial and Product Design, working at the intersection of human behavior, materials science, and manufacturing systems to create objects that function precisely as intended. This level of study is for you if you're ready to take creative and technical responsibility for complex design decisions.

The learning environment fosters independent inquiry and sustained critical thinking across applied coursework and industry-linked projects. You'll study advanced ergonomics, design research methods, and lifecycle analysis, learning to evaluate how a product performs across its entire production and use cycle. Modules may also cover sustainable materials selection and prototype testing using fabrication tools and CAD modeling.

At this level, you're expected to lead design processes, not just participate in them. You'll develop a professional portfolio through studio-based work and research, positioning yourself for roles in product strategy, UX and industrial consultancy, or design management. Graduates also move into research and academic careers, or take senior positions in manufacturing, consumer electronics, furniture, and medical device sectors.
