The Global Studies: Sustainable Societies and Social Change (One Year) problems such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and increasing pollution add to existing problems with social inequalities and injustices. It is high time to reverse the current trend. To create sustainable societies and social change, the programme therefore uses applied research and is based on close cooperation between the academic world and society. For the thesis work, you will work independently but together with a host organisation (within the non-profit, public, or corporate sector) and with the support of a supervisor to develop and formulate a thesis project. The project will focus on creating sustainable societies and and contributing to long-term social change, as well as fulfilling the academic standard for a master's thesis at an advanced level.

The MLitt Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures will deepen your literary and cultural knowledge while fostering intercultural competence and transferable skills for life in an increasingly globalized world. The School is distinguished by the breadth of its research which spans language, literary, and cultural studies across eight distinct language areas – Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Persian, Russian, and Spanish – but also a range of cultural-historical epochs from the middle ages to the present day.

The MLitt in Global Social and Political Thought provides an innovative transnational and comparative approach to the study of the history and influence of global thought traditions. Global intellectual history – the transnational and comparative approach to the history of ideas – is a developing field of academic study. 

Today’s theology students are faced with the momentous task of making relevant contributions to modern culture. This requires a thorough and interdisciplinary academic training. The two-year Research Master equips students to function as experts in Church and society and prepares them for further research specifically oriented towards the Doctoral Programme in Theology.

The cross-continental course is taught in Germany, Taiwan and Mexico by semester. Excellent teachers from each school teach the socio-economic overview of Asia, Europe and the Americas in English, and discuss cross-strait relations, the European Union and the North American Free Trade Agreement according to local conditions. Important topics not only increase business management knowledge and understand the global competitive environment and changes in major economies, but also help expand students' international vision and experience.
