The Master programme of Fine Arts in Artistic Research is a two-year full-time education programme. The purpose of the programme is to prepare visual artists to define and formulate a research project in Fine arts that aims at admission to a doctoral programme in Fine arts. The education maintains a high international profile and prepares students for professional activities at a international level. The focus is on the individual research project with which the applicant is accepted and develops during the programme. Courses include method courses with a special focus on artistic research projects, but also more general method courses with invited researchers and artistic researchers.

The Master of Fine Arts is a two-year programme offering specialised artistic training through individual studio practice and courses in art and various related disciplines. Students choose from a range of technical and theoretical courses, many of which are taught by internationally recognised artists. The programme also includes a study trip and a degree project, which consists of an essay and a solo exhibition at the academy’s gallery. On completion of the programme, students will have acquired broad and specialised practical and theoretical knowledge and skills for independent work in a variety of professional roles.

Moreover, you practise your ability to analyze, debate and write about art from a critical point of view. Focus is on your own individual artistic expression. The master’s programme in Photography offers you the opportunity to develop your already existing photographic practice, your visual literacy, and your own creativity. In a critical and generous dialogue with teachers and fellow students, you will formulate your work in different contexts and have the possibility to present your work in public venues, school galleries, and printed matter.

Our programme is for practising artists with an interest in interdisciplinary artistic situations. We examine the artist’s interaction with the surrounding community and aspects related to location and dramatic structure in artistic work. You apply with an investigative project that you develop through the entire programme.
