The main objective of air transport is to ensure the safety of the passengers, crew and people on the ground which is mainly done through aircraft airworthiness activities.

The study program of aviation safety enables students to perform the tasks in the field of aviation safety, airport and air navigation safety, aviation safety analysis, accident/incident investigation and reporting, human resources in aviation and emergency planning as well as engagement in scientific work in the field of aviation safety.

The Master's Degree in Operational Safety is the only program of its kind that is developed in Latin America in the Spanish language, with high-quality teachers both in their academic training and in their professional careers. This program is carried out under the thematic lines of Human Factors, Material Factors, and Accident Investigation, allowing the student to expand their field of knowledge and action in Aviation Security, both military and general aviation. It began with this postgraduate offer in 2015, mainly impacting the members of the Colombian Air Force. Six years later, the Master's degree has greater recognition in the aeronautical industry in Colombia and also abroad. A reflection of this is the composition of the student population, it has members of the Public Force, personnel in good use of the Military Forces, civilians who work in aviation companies, and even foreign military personnel.

The aeronautical industry is constantly evolving in terms of legislation, technologies, strategies, processes and protocols. Against this, the worldwide demand for airline management experts according to modern criteria of safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, sustainability, resilience, transparency, non-discrimination is growing. The Master therefore intends to respond to this need, strongly felt today in the labor market, by acquiring skills and providing the technical-legal and economic-managerial tools to optimally master the management of airlines, responding and adapting to requests and challenges of a sector subject to continuous changes.
