The program is well suited for students who wish to study language from a comparative perspective. The program places special emphasis on the formal aspects of grammar, in particular syntax and phonology. The approach to these disciplines relies on comparative studies of many languages.

Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism (SoMu) is an international joint-degree study programme offered by Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Kaunas, Lithuania, Johannes-Gutenberg University (JGU), Mainz, Germany, Stockholm University (SU), Stockholm, Sweden, and the University of Tartu (UT), Tartu, Estonia. SoMu trains a new generation of sociolinguists who will possess a broad scholarly and practical understanding of the parallel use of multiple languages in Europe and a professional awareness of multilingualism’s social dynamics and its cultural, political, and socioeconomic impact in varying European contexts.

The inter-university master's degree provides training in advanced linguistics to graduates in Philology, Languages, Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting, Humanities and Sociology, to specialize them in the applied areas of Language Acquisition and Teaching, Communication and Linguistic Resources, and Lexicon, Grammar and Variation.

This master's degree is designed to offer students a solid training in linguistics, both theoretical and applied. The module of compulsory subjects provides the student with the necessary theoretical and practical base to carry out any type of Final Master's Project in Linguistics. The master's degree is also designed as a period of prior training to access a doctoral program in the linguistic field.

The university master's degree in Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts (LAALCM) is designed to train Spanish and international students to answer key questions in applied linguistics and second language acquisition in the world's numerous, diverse multilingual contexts. Students will learn to analyse these questions, develop a general understanding of the tools, techniques and methods required to answer them, and carry out their own research in a final project, in which they can apply the knowledge they have acquired.

Successful completion of the Program will enable you to be awarded the degree in Master in Applied Linguistics: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. After successfully completing the Program, the student will receive the degree as awarded by the University where they have enrolled.

The course is offered with three options for delivery; on campus, blended or fully online. The course is aimed at experienced English Language Teachers and other English language professionals.

The aim of the study program “Computer Science – Language Technologies and Computational Linguistics” is to get the graduates ready for research in the area of natural language processing and the development of applications dealing with both written and spoken language. Examples of such applications are systems of information retrieval, information extraction and summarization, machine translation, text analytics, grammar checking, automatic speech recognition, spoken dialogue systems, and speech synthesis. The emphasis is put on a deep understanding of formal mathematical and algorithmic foundations and their practical applicability in natural language processing tasks. Students of the program have the possibility to focus either on theoretical aspects of formal description of natural languages or on the technology-oriented side (state-of-the-art methods in statistics, machine learning, and deep learning) for language data processing.

The Intercollegiate Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a fully online programme that trains teachers to implement bilingual education at all levels of education.

The Erasmus Mundus international master's degree in Lexicography, taught by a consortium of universities and coordinated by the German university Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlagen-Nürnberg, has the study of Lexicography as its central axis. With an interdisciplinary approach, its objective is the scientific and academic training of students as well as facilitating their future insertion in the world of work through new training methods, the creation of knowledge networks, mobility, teaching in two languages (English and German) and carrying out internships in prestigious centers.
