38 Water Management Masters Degree Programs

This specialization track is ideal for students with a broad interest in water sciences who want to integrate social, environmental, and engineering dimensions. Students will not only expand their knowledge within their own discipline but also acquire a trans-disciplinary perspective of watershed sciences. This will enable students to fully understand the threats to both natural and anthropogenic hydro systems and develop their skills to create and implement innovative, holistic solutions.

The three-semester MA program in International Water Governance and Water Diplomacy, starting September 2024, offers up-to-date, practice-oriented education for practising and future water managers, diplomats, and national and international civil servants engaged in transboundary or global environmental issues.

The course in Master in Urban Water Cycle aims to respond to the current societal challenge of sustainable water management in the urban cycle, always bearing in mind the issues associated with global change (climate and anthropogenic) and the current drought scenario.

If you want to pursue a career tackling local and global water and environmental challenges, this MSc will equip you with the fundamental technical and management skills to do so. We teach both academic and practical skills so that you will discover how you can contribute to the sustainable management of water resources and the environment. The exciting range of optional units means that you can choose the right balance of quantitative and qualitative skills: from environmental data science and machine learning applications to sustainable systems and disaster resilience.

On completion of the training, candidates should be conversant and be able to partake in, or render advice concerning, all aspects involved in water resource management in Southern Africa. This includes principles of quality management, water conservation, water demand management, water supply and sanitation technologies.

The Master of Water Engineering and Water Management focuses on chemical engineering and hydrology applied to unit operations of water treatment and water sciences (aquatic system and its preservation). The purpose of the lectures is concerned with biological and chemical reactors for pollution removal, unit operations of separation for high-quality water production (membrane separation, adsorption), hydrology, and ecology for the management of aquatic systems. This program is provided by INSA Toulouse and Toulouse INP.

The MSc by Research - Water is an exciting opportunity for candidates who would like to complete in any topic that fits within the broad remit of water and environmental management and WASH for which the expert supervisor/s within the centre are recognised.

In this Master's Programme in Water Technology, you will learn how water can be treated not only efficiently, but also in a sustainable and economical manner. Water treatment is inadequate in many parts of the world, and legislation concerning wastewater is constantly being tightened. In the discipline of water resources engineering, civil engineers contribute to the sustainable development of safe water supply to all consumers and the protection of this natural resource through an understanding of the natural hydrological cycle, physical principles and the effect of human interference in the design of pipelines, pump stations, open channels and hydraulic structures, and the assessment of the yield from surface water resources.
