Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Cedarville University are pleased to offer the dual Advanced Master of Divinity/Master Business Administration program. The Advanced MDiv/MBA program integrates theological education with a foundation in business administration. This dual degree program is for students seeking to serve in a ministry leadership position in the local church, on the mission field, or in a parachurch organization who desire business management training in addition to theological education.

This degree is a preparatory degree for those who wish to do work in philosophical theology or in cultural missions. The Master of Arts in Philosophy of Religion prepares persons for entrance into a PhD program for the purpose of teaching within an academic setting or working within church ministries designed to have an effective voice in the public square.

The purpose of Southeastern’s Master of Theology degree program is to provide the post-MDiv student with an opportunity for advanced, guided research under the supervision of a faculty member in a special area of theological study. Some students choose this program to enhance their academic qualifications for post-graduate or doctoral studies.

The Master of Arts Christian Studies (MACS) is a Seminary degree that provides a graduate level introduction to the theological disciplines. The Master of Arts in Christian Studies degree program exists to equip believers with a biblical and theological foundation for ministry.

Within the Seminary’s Master of Divinity program, a woman may concentrate in Ministry to Women in order to prepare for Christian ministries other than the pastorate. This track will prepare women for a wide variety of family, church and mission ministries: (1) in church staff and denominational ministries to women; (2) in evangelistic work; (3) in women’s conference ministries; (4) in advocacy work; (5) in teaching the Bible; (6) in addressing the practical, moral, and spiritual needs of women.

The Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) prepares students for further academic work in the areas of the Old and New Testament, for teaching at an undergraduate level, and for ministry in the local church. The program accomplishes these goals by increasing competency in biblical languages, facility in sound hermeneutical principles, and ability to synthesize key theological themes.

The Master of Arts Ethics, Theology, and Culture is a Seminary program providing specialized academic training that prepares men and women to impact the culture for Christ through prophetic moral witness, training in cultural engagement, and service in a variety of settings.

The degree is designed to prepare students for further graduate study or for general educational purposes. This 36-hour degree can be completed entirely online or through international cohorts, in which the student will complete the majority of credits online or take select on-site hybrid or 1-week intensive courses.

The Ministry Leadership track is designed to equip students with the competencies necessary to serve as effective servant leaders in churches, Christian organizations, and other contexts. The MDiv Ministry Leadership track builds upon the requirements of the MA in Ministry Leadership, giving the student an opportunity to do focused study in a particular area of ministry. Prior to registration each semester, students should meet with their academic advisor.

The MDiv program offers several specializations including international church planting, women’s ministry, worship leadership, preaching and pastoral care, biblical counseling, and more. Study the essential tools for your current and future ministries and develop as a leader in a variety of contexts.

The concentration in Biblical Counseling provided by this track will prepare students for a wide variety of biblical guidance ministries in local churches. Students completing the MDiv or MA degree programs in the Biblical Counseling track will be prepared to serve as a chaplain or on a local church staff with special responsibilities for counseling, pastoral care, and family ministries.

The Christian Ministry track provides a large number of elective hours and is designed to afford students flexibility in their degree program. Beyond the 70 hr. MDiv Core, students complete 12 hours of free electives.

The Christian Apologetics track provides specialized studies for those students who are interested in developing expertise in the defense of the Christian faith. Students with good reasoning skills and with a desire to engage the culture will find the Christian Apologetics track to be an excellent opportunity to develop proficiency in apologetics. Those seeking to prepare for youth ministry, college ministry, and international or home missions ministries will find this course of study especially useful.
