38 Photography Masters Degree Programs

The Master’s Programme in Photography at FAMU is a two-year full-time course (four semesters) available in English, aimed at students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and want to deepen their photographic practice, conceptual thinking, and technical expertise.

Official Master's degree accredited by the Italian Ministry of Universities & Research. The Master of Arts in Photography investigates further the methodological analysis of the subject starting from the study of the conceptual, aesthetic and ethical aspects of current tendencies, while the experimentation of new techniques and new integrated media guides the actual professional practice.

The Expanded Photography MA embraces photography as an expanded field, encompassing specialisms such as virtual photography, photobooks, documentary, art, fashion, editorial, photojournalism, and writing photography. The MA in Photography program provides professional practice and intensive study of the photographic medium. The core curriculum covers historical perspective, in addition to advanced theoretical and conceptual development in traditional, experimental, and digital photography capture, post-production, and output with a focus on the development of a signature portfolio in the student’s area of interest (Fine Art Photography, Documentary, or Art for Commerce).
