Official inter-university master's degree, coordinated jointly by the universities of Valladolid and Salamanca. Its objective is to provide students with high academic and research standards, which complements the best performance of a professional career and qualify for research work and the completion of a doctoral thesis. It offers students specialized knowledge in four areas or pathways: History of Philosophy and Metaphysics, Moral and Political Philosophy, Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts, and Epistemology, with emphasis on the historical foundations of these disciplines and on a methodological background. This Master´s Degree enables analytical and critical thinking, and contributes to the development of intellectual rigor, argumentative skills, the capacity for multidisciplinary integration, an ethical conscience and attention to the principles and conceptual foundations of human knowledge and action. It is of interest not only to BA graduates in Philosophy or other Humanities disciplines (History, Philology, Art, etc.), but also to those coming from other scientific or technical branches (Law, Social Sciences, Psychology, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.).

MA in English Philology provides the student with the ability to comprehend in-depth interdisciplinarity, polyparadigmaticity and interparadigmaticity of the field of English philology, to understand the exploratory potential and practical value of the theories relevant to the thinking spaces of linguistics and literature, cultural studies and sociology.

The aim of the program is to produce graduates who are specialists in English philology - proficient users of English (C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) with a solid knowledge of English linguistics and a deep knowledge of the literature and culture of English-speaking countries, who are aware of the professional literature in these fields and other information resources.

Students who successfully complete this program may register at the International University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain) and be awarded a Master’s of Arts Degree in Ancient Philology by that institution once they have fulfilled its requirements.

Editorial Studies covers the theory and practice of fundamental philological work (interpretation of traditional conventions, text criticism and commentary). It is broadly concerned with the saving, documentation, constitution and communication of control texts in Humanities research. The objects of study are addressed in-depth, using examples from participating disciplines. In close cooperation with institutions and projects in archiving and publishing, appropriate requirements for archiving and editorial practice are communicated, viewed critically and implemented as part of practical work.

The study of the history of philosophy is a historical as well as a philosophical discipline. It is philosophical because it seeks the origins of contemporary philosophical debates. It is historical because it seeks to understand these origins on their own terms and in their own context.
