Have you ever thought of how important light is in the technology surrounding us? Light plays a central role in car sensors, internet, cameras in drones, solar cells – and so much more! These technologies build on photonics, the physics of photons. Photonics is considered a Key Enabling Technology by the EU, and the ongoing development of advanced light sources and detectors will continue to be vital for Europe in the future. Innovation in photonics will contribute to solve societal challenges and create sustainable economies.

The program focuses on global social, political and economic change. The degree provides a critical understanding of the history and current dynamics of globalization, and its impact on societies and environments. The degree is organized as a full-time program over a 2-year period with 120 study points. All teaching is in English, minimum requirements regarding English qualifications must be met. The degree consists of a series of courses including a Master’s thesis (30 or 60 points).

We offer courses in fish breeding, fish nutrition and planning and design of aquacultural plants, and you will get insight and knowledge about how those components/factors affect the effectiveness of production and influence the economic yield.

The focus is on agroecosystems, on holistic methodology for their study, evaluation and improvement, attitudes, ethics and values, and on individual and group-based learning. Learning is based on exploring real-life farm and food systems cases.

AQFood focuses on the production of aquatic food throughout the entire production and food supply chain, linking primary production including aquaculture and wild catch with processing and distribution to the consumers in terms of quality and safety.
