15 Natural Sciences Masters Degree Programs in Romania

Master’s students have an exceptional endowment: modern laboratories of computer technology and state-of-the-art software. This study program involves teachers and researchers from the Department of Geography and the Department of Informatics of UVT, to which are added external collaborators from the Center for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) of the University of Salzburg, the University of Bucharest and ESRI Romania.

The master program focusses on the development of software development competences – for industry-oriented practitioners and industrial researchers, focusing on skills for working in novel or emerging paradigms with state-of-the-art technologies, and, respectively, scientific research competencies – for those aiming to pursue a doctoral degree or a research-oriented career in either academy or industry, emphasis is placed on how to organize a scientific research effort, covering methodologies, literature analysis and dissemination guidance on the topics addressed by the program.

Unique in the country, the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics originates in three faculties geologically and geophysically organized after the Education Reform in 1948. Today the traditions of Romanian geology continue to a high level of scientific and didactic approach, on the background of modernization and permanent updating.

ABMB Master Program is currently conducted in the Faculty of Biology, the University of Bucharest only for foreign students and it is coordinated by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (DBBM). This program was accredited by ARACIS in 2013.

Master in Chemistry in Advanced Materials

The Artificial Intelligence and Distributed Computing Master's Program taught in English aims to offer competences in designing intelligent systems with application in various scientific and technical fields and in using the most recent technologies in high-performance computing and distributed computing. It is a two years program organized in three semesters devoted to teaching and a fourth one focused on research activities and the MSc thesis preparation. The students have the opportunity to use the infrastructure of the High-Performance Computing Lab, and participate in international research projects and to industrial projects conducted in collaboration with IT companies.

The mission of the master’s studies in ”Advanced research methods in physics” is to prepare qualified personnel for higher education and researchers in a field – closely related to condensed matter physics and theoretical physics. The Master’s program is open to students with a background in physics who are eager to expand their knowledge and experience in a modern physics research environment. Thanks to the experimental and theoretical skills acquired during the study, students will also have the ability to respond to the needs of the industrial community in areas such as materials technology, automotive industry, chemical engineering, IT and others.

The "Advanced Computing Systems" master's program focuses on training highly skilled professionals in the field of advanced computing. The program aims to equip students with strong research and development competencies, fostering interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary expertise in cutting-edge computing technologies.

The Faculty of Social, Humanities and Natural Sciences currently represents an important didactic and scientific potential within the large family of faculties that make up Hyperion University.

The master program trains engineers specialized in materials. It provides education at international standards and conducts research activities that meet the requirements of the nowadays labor market, especially in the industrial field. The study program is the branch of Master Recherche Sciences des Matériaux, Nanomatériaux, Mulmatériaux, coordinated by INP Toulouse.

The master program broadens the horizons of the holders of a Biology degree or represents complementary training for specialists in related fields. The full-time program helps students gain the necessary knowledge and skills for medical laboratory activities.

The master's degree programs represent the second cycle of university studies and are completed according to article 153, par. (1) of the National Education Law no. 1/2011 through level 7 of the EQF / CEC and of the National Qualifications Framework. They have a normal duration of 1-2 years and correspond to a number of transferable study credits, between 60 and 120.
