With the online Master in Musical Research you will be able to have a deep vision of music, where you will acquire the necessary skills in artistic, scientific, social and historical research of music. At UNIR we present you a degree that goes much further than a master's degree in musicology.

The course aims to equip postgraduates with a professional qualification in ethnomusicology; to develop a sound theoretical basis for undertaking musical research; to provide students with a thorough grounding in the field for teaching purposes; to give practical training in musical performance and dance and to consider Irish music within a larger geographical framework.

Research and Interpretation coexist here in an interdisciplinary space, taking up the reflection of the wise masters of the past who proposed mutual dependence between the speculative and the interpretative branches.

Graduate Degrees are offered in Master of Arts and Master of Music. Degree opportunities include: collaborative piano, composition, conducting (wind, choral, and orchestral), jazz studies, music education, music performance (brass, percussion, piano, strings, voice, and woodwinds), music theory, musicology, and piano pedagogy.

The master's program in musicology is aimed at those of you with a bachelor's degree in musicology, the humanities or social sciences, or related disciplines, who have a budding interest in understanding more about music. The program prepares you for a career in doctoral research on music in academia, but also provides knowledge that can be used in a wide variety of music-related professions. E.g. working with data analysis in the media and music industries or working in the public cultural sector.

The Master of Arts in Music degree is a graduate research degree which culminates with a written thesis and a public presentation (lecture or lecture/recital). Possible areas of focus for the thesis include (but are not limited to) music history, music theory, ethnomusicology, historical performance practice, music technology, and interdisciplinary subjects relating music with other fields.

Jubilee College of Music’s Master of Arts in Music degree is designed to develop advanced scholars and ministry leaders who will meet the needs of professional and effective music ministry services around the world. Courses in this 45-hour graduate degree program train students as professional musicians and music scholars with a solid Biblical foundation.

The Humanities Graduate Program provides post-baccalaureate students the opportunity to study the traditional humanities fields--philosophy, literature, history, music, and art--in the context of contemporary interdisciplinary topics, as well as in courses devoted to the methodology and current concerns of specific disciplines. Courses enable the critical evaluation of the visual and performing arts, as well as the ideas, cultures and individuals which have shaped our society. Program courses are designed around the theme of the city. Skills in advanced writing, research, and presentation are exercised in seminars and in a final research or creative project.

Those choosing the Advanced Master in Contemporary Music programme at the Royal Conservatory/School of Arts Ghent work under the guidance of the Ictus and SPECTRA contemporary music ensembles, on projects with an emphatic focus on recently composed music. Students specialize in contemporary music, as soloists or members of an ensemble. They play an active role in creating new works by both young and established composers.

Music Science includes the history, theoretical and other areas of music. The development of music science in Azerbaijan can be attributed to two major periods: XIII-XV and XIX-XX centuries, XIII-XV and XIX-XX centuries have an important place in the development of music-theoretical subjects of Azerbaijan.

Based on undergraduate-level music theory & history, students are taught to have a deep understanding of the nature of music and its attributes with a logical approach to music, to solidify the musical current of each era according to the developmental phases in history, and to decide what to study in practical classes according to each individual's capabilities and professor's guidance from classic to modern and contemporary music, so that students can be decent, capable, and professional musicians.

The Department of Ethnomusicology at Nanhua University was founded in 2001. In Taiwan, this department is so far the only academic institute that studies global music culture in ethnomusicological perspective.
