Bioinformatics is dedicated to the research, development or application of computational tools to help in the analysis of biological data that include areas such as biology, medicine, agriculture, among others, focusing on the acquisition, storage, organization and visualization of these data. On the other hand, computational biology focuses on the development and application of analytical data, mathematical models, computational simulation techniques and theoretical methods, for the study of biological, behavioral and social systems. The object of the Master is based on the tools, instruments and methodologies provided by bioinformatics and computational biology for the study of living beings. The Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology is a novel bet of the articulation of four universities in Manizales, thanks to the support of SUMA and organizations such as the Luker Foundation and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology of Colombia, BIOS.
