The Specialization in Aquaculture Management and Production corresponds to a postgraduate program, which arises after the increase that the activity has had in recent decades; is a relatively new applied discipline of knowledge in Colombia whose purpose is the qualification of professional practice and the development of competencies that allow improvement in the same occupation, profession, discipline or in areas related or complementary to zootechnics, veterinary medicine, agronomy, agricultural business administration and biology among others.

Bioinformatics is dedicated to the research, development or application of computational tools to help in the analysis of biological data that include areas such as biology, medicine, agriculture, among others, focusing on the acquisition, storage, organization and visualization of these data. On the other hand, computational biology focuses on the development and application of analytical data, mathematical models, computational simulation techniques and theoretical methods, for the study of biological, behavioral and social systems. The object of the Master is based on the tools, instruments and methodologies provided by bioinformatics and computational biology for the study of living beings. The Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology is a novel bet of the articulation of four universities in Manizales, thanks to the support of SUMA and organizations such as the Luker Foundation and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology of Colombia, BIOS.

It integrates research with technological development processes that allow accelerating innovation and generating value chain, to solve the problems of tropical agriculture and the rural world.

To develop in students the ability to formulate interdisciplinary approaches to the study, analysis, and modeling of biological phenomena through creative solutions to problems in the different areas of Bioinformatics.
