The Master in Linguistics at the Caro y Cuervo Institute is one of the oldest and most recognized graduate programs in Colombia in the area of ​​language sciences. Classical Education is an approach to education rooted in the tradition of Western culture and civilization, developed by the Church and enlightened by theology, using the history curriculum and the pedagogy of the seven liberal arts to cultivate wisdom in people, virtues, and harmony. The higher studies program aims to prepare for the educational challenges of the future from the always current doctrine of San Agustín, Santo Tomás, J.H. Newman, C.S. Lewis, and other great Christian thinkers around the search for Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.

The Master in Literature and Culture, whose emphasis is on the study of Latin American literature, especially Colombian literature, has as its central axis the study of the discipline in its relationships with culture, in line with the most recent approaches to literary theories. and cultural. They conceive literary discourses in a systemic relationship with the multiple discourses of society and culture, without losing sight of the importance of their aesthetic particularity. The literary fact is understood throughout the communicative circuit: the textual production in a cultural space, the text and its link with other texts of the culture, and its modes of circulation. Literature is, in addition to being an aesthetic element, a particular cultural document, a space for reflection, the possibility of knowing our realities. In this way, dialogue between literature also fosters dialogue between cultures and intracultural dialogue. As the fundamental purpose of the master's degree is the training of researchers, from the second semester the curriculum encourages the formulation of a research project that will be developed throughout schooling. It is a flexible pensum, which allows choosing between different orientations of literary studies derived from the literary research lines of the Caro y Cuervo Institute, directed by renowned researchers-teachers.

The Master of Creative Writing at the Caro y Cuervo Institute promotes and develops creative research and written production through interdisciplinary training and a broad conception of the possibilities of written language. Its purpose is to stimulate analytical, argumentative, reflective, propositional, poetic, and creative processes around the singular solution of narrative problems. His intellectual and pedagogical proposal is based on the contemporary tension between literary creation and production of creative written content; it is about assuming such tension as an opportunity for wealth and educational openness and not as a difference to be settled.

To train postgraduate students who want to deepen and investigate the object of study of the philosophy of law and legal theory, as a component of training excellence in the treatment of new currents of law, which seek to overcome the positivist perspective and account for legal realities, intimately linked with the reflection of the foundations of the normative processes of human action; Furthermore, it wants to account for the new currents of law linked to globalization processes.
