Graduates of this specialty may administer, design, plan and evaluate service programs related to the personal and social development of individuals, families and communities to improve the quality of life of society. In addition, they will develop leadership skills that will allow them to organize the communities and thus become agents of social change. They may participate effectively and efficiently in public policy formulation processes. They will know strategies for fundraising, preparation and administration of proposals for the operationalization of programmatic objectives and goals.

The Masters of Counselling is a two-year course and is available on a full-time and part-time basis. Skills are developed alongside critically reflective practice applied to substantial real-world counselling experience in the master of counselling course.

Students complete 43 credits of course work in as few as 16 months, or they can extend their studies over a longer period to accommodate work and family obligations. All students work at a required summer internship that we guarantee will be paid and can take free January Academy enrichment workshops between the fall and spring semesters.

The BGSU master's computer science with a specialization in cybersecurity and digital forensics degree provides intensive studies in the fundamentals computer science with additional training in cybersecurity, digital forensics, networks and mobile computing.

With the U.S. growing more diverse and Latinos surging in population growth and political and cultural influence, but still largely ignored or misunderstood by much of the mainstream media coverage, the need for this program is clear and urgent. Our students learn to use their bilingual skills to produce rigorous reporting, on deadline, in both languages, while nurturing a deep understanding of the complexity of the Latinx experience.

Engagement journalism is all about finding new ways to serve communities, including those that are often left out of traditional mainstream news. It prioritizes filling unmet information needs and facilitating community participation in the news process.
