Healthcare management usually provides students the knowledge and critical-thinking skills necessary for the management of healthcare delivery systems and health services. Managers plan, direct and coordinate medical and healthcare services. Students might find themselves in positions managing entire facilities, specific departments or a group of physicians in a medical practice.

There are several institutions for higher learning located throughout Puerto Rico, with The University of Puerto Rico being the oldest and largest. As a territory of the United States, citizens may have access to additional opportunities for education.

A masters is earned after students complete an undergraduate degree program. To obtain a masters, you usually need to complete 12 to 18 college courses that often involve completing comprehensive tests and/or a thesis.

Part time learning allows one to obtain part-time degrees even if one cannot attend school on a full-time basis. One can learn at his or own pace, gradually accumulating credits which count towards final qualification.
