In order to achieve this goal, we have developed a comprehensive five year program that is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Given that our focus is to prepare trainees for careers in a variety of settings, we encourage them to be adaptable and practice in a realistic environment. While on call, our residents are available for any type of emergency, be it a call for the cardiac arrest or the trauma team (of which they are members) or to provide anesthetic services for all surgical procedures from obstetrics to cardiac to neonatal surgery.
