Social anthropologists research the human experience by observing and participating in people’s daily lives. The Anthropology MA program enables you to specialize in Social Anthropology and learn more about the human experience from a comparative perspective. The program provides a stimulating research environment where you can develop your own research project through a range of fieldwork-based practices that examines the relativity of world views, and the commonalities of social practices, and relate them to a broader global context.

The Craft Studies MA curriculum expands on the discipline and understanding of contemporary crafts and advances professional development, critical expression, and artistic research into materials, processes, concepts and identities. Through studio work and craft theory, students take part in recrafting the cultural, social, economic and ecological narratives. This program is a hub for emerging craft makers and thinkers.

The Documentary MA program is focused on the auteur concept of the creative documentary. During the two-year studies, the students are guided to find their author’s voice and develop their factual storytelling skills. Each student creates a short documentary each semester.

Contemporary Art MA is a two-year international program for emerging contemporary artists of different backgrounds intended to guide them during the development of their artistic position. The main focus is on the individual artistic practice, supported by collaborative moments in the curriculum as well as masterclasses and courses introducing a range of artistic methods and platforms for research and critical reflection.

The Master of Urban Studies is a two-year, English-language program focused on rethinking contemporary urbanism. The program combines history, theory and practice, drawing on critical approaches in planning, geography and architecture. It is aimed at students who want to contribute towards a more equitable future. Key themes include infrastructure, urban nature and housing.

The MA program in Human Rights in the Digital Society was created to address new developments and challenges in law and society that have arisen in connection with the ever-increasing digitalization. The program provides a unique opportunity to engage with questions like what are the limits of the freedom of speech online or what is sovereignty over the digital environment? Or how to balance human rights in the online environment? This program will provide students with the skill set necessary to analyze the effects of digitalization on human rights and law in general. The courses have a balance between theory and practice problems and assignments. The students will be encouraged to take a critical perspective, research topical issues that they feel passionate about, and highlight flaws in the current system.
