Over the last few decades, there has been a growing interest among companies, industry, and the Administration in improving environmental quality, which has led to an increase in the demand for technicians capable of dealing from a multidisciplinary point of view with the environmental problems posed by production processes. The training of these professionals should be oriented towards solving technological problems related to the consumption of resources and the generation and treatment of pollution. The aim of this Master is to provide interdisciplinary training in the prevention of environmental impacts, the study of process sustainability, pollution treatment and environmental management to graduates in science and engineering, which will allow them to adapt to the existing offer for graduates in this sector.

The Master of Arts in Environmental Resource Policy (MA-ENRP) at the Trachtenberg School offers a multidisciplinary approach to environmental and sustainability studies. This STEM program prepares students to enter environmental policy careers in government, nonprofit organizations, the private sector and environmental advocacy groups.

The Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences Program studies the physical, chemical, and biological processes that affect the composition and dynamics of the atmosphere. Research is directly linked to an undergraduate and graduate program that provides a fundamental understanding of the atmosphere, and opportunities for applied research, theoretical research, and technical training to prepare students for careers in meteorology, atmospheric science, remote sensing and environmental technology and science.

In the environmental protection organisation master's study program, you will deepen your knowledge of environmental research methodology, sustainable development, environmental management, and land management. You will learn how to professionally perform an environmental impact assessment, and you will get to know the environmental legislation of Lithuania and the EU. 

The Master’s programme is made up of one year of taught courses, followed by a full year of research. The Master in Science in Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary program housed in the College of Natural and Behavioral Science (NBS). The mission of the program is to prepare the leaders, thinkers and planners necessary to address and solve environmental challenges using interdisciplinary approaches. Because of our location and internship opportunities, the emphasis of the program is on the unique problems of the urban environment. The program is appropriate for students with interests in careers in government, urban or environmental planning, environmental education, research, journalism, law, and academia.

This module involves advanced study of the following: (a) Key concepts and principles of environmental law in the context of a South African constitutional dispensation Nature and scope of environmental law (b) South African environmental framework legislation and policy concerned with environmental governance.
