8 Engineering Masters Degree Programs in Vietnam

Vietnam has been developing speedily over the last decade, yet the infrastructure system for daily living and production of Vietnam is insufficient, which demands high-quality workforce in construction areas with essential skill sets, especially managerial skills when Vietnam join the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

L’École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) (French Civil Aviation University) is the largest aeronautical university in Europe and the only aviation-oriented university in France offering a wide and complete panel of aeronautics-oriented degree bearing programs and continuing & professional education programs, serving the aeronautical world, and particularly the air transport sector. ENAC in partnership with USTH opened the first Master of Science in International Air Transport Operation Management (IATOM) in Vietnam and in Southeast Asia. IATOM is a two year-degree accredited by the French Ministry of Education for those students who hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject. The courses are taught entirely in English to embed students in an international research and training environment. The students will study for 1 semester at the USTH campus and the next 2 semesters at the ENAC campus in Toulouse, France. In the final semester, the students will take an internship in Vietnam or any Asian/European country.

Master's Degrees in Electrical/Electronics/Automation Engineering study electricity in power-supply infrastructure, devices, and information systems. Electrical Engineering focuses on the supply and use of electricity as a power source.

The master in Space of USTH is an extensive program for future scientists who will participate in the next decades in the development of space technology and sciences worldwide. The Master's degree is co-accredited by Vietnam and France. Since 2016, the master program has changed its name to “SPACE: Earth Observation, Astrophysics, Satellite Technologies”. The graduation certificate is delivered by USTH and one of the four French universities participating in the master: the University of Paris, Observatory of Paris, University of Montpellier, and University of Paris Est-Créteil. Courses of international standard are delivered by professors from these French universities, USTH, with additional support from Space Technology Institute (STI) and Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC). The Master training system at the USTH is realized through the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). A special feature of the program is the opportunity to practice for 3-6 months in France and other developed countries in the space field, which has a great opportunity for students to access advanced science and professional working environment and improve their researches for the future. And USTH is proud of USTH alumni working at leading space research institutions such as Nasa, Paris Observatory, etc.

The aim of the master in ICT is equipping students with the most up-to-date, high-level background knowledge and information technology skills so that they can easily adapt to a professional working environment if they study higher education abroad; or take up management positions, or founded their own IT startups. Students are enrolled both at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (Vietnam France University) and at a French partner university. A six (6) months internship in France will be offered to students in the second year (Master 2). Graduated students will be awarded a double degree from a French university and from the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi.

Nanomaterials are found in the center of contemporary technological evolution that has direct impacts on the daily life of human beings. This 2-years master's program of Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology at USTH is designed with aims to provide depth knowledge (both academia and practical knowledge) to students about all aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Two tracks are currently provided, namely Materials Science, Devices and Nanotechnology (Nanophysics); Materials Science and Nanochemistry (Nanochemistry). With proposed courses ranging from the foundation of materials to current trenches in research & development of advanced functional materials together with courses dealing with management, production quality control, etc, students are trained to be ready for the next step of their academic career (Ph.D. preparation) or for a position in the industry (technical assistant or Research & Development engineer). Indeed, most of our master's students received PhD scholarships from reputed institutions in France, the USA, or other countries after graduation.
