The Master of Business Administration / Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering is offered as a dual-degree, administered jointly by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and the School of Management.

The educational goals of the Department of Mechanical Engineering are to train specialized professionals to secure national competitiveness in the field of mechanical engineering through the convergence of mechanical-systems-engineering-design, as well as to provide personality education.

The Department of Architectural Engineering has a master's degree and a doctoral degree. It is aimed at the new millennium's new conceptual architecture field, which crosses technology, design, and theoretical research.

This department is the only department of a national university established in 1989 according to the necessity of the modern knowledge and information society. It has produced 300 enrolled students, 1,500 undergraduate graduates, and 100 engineering masters, and 25 technicians related to equipment, which are the hallmarks of the best engineers. With the best history and tradition in the facility field, we are engaged in outstanding activities in various fields such as facility industry sites such as construction facilities, industrial facilities, energy industry, and engineering fields as well as startups and public servants.

Our department was established in 2002 based on the monumental donation of Mun-Sul Jeong, whose mission is to foster creative convergence talents in the fields of biotechnology and brain engineering who will lead the future of Korea. Since its establishment, it has grown remarkably until now, and now it has emerged as a world-class department leading bio-convergence engineering. Our department can be said to be the most brilliantly embodied of KAIST's spirit of 'creativity and 'challenge'. From March 1, 2015, it was changed from the College of Life Science and Technology to the College of Engineering, which provided an opportunity to reflect on the original spirit of the establishment of the department by pursuing engineering goals based on convergence research. Through our emphasis on cutting-edge technology, hands-on education and critical thinking skills, the Department of Architectural Engineering prepares graduate students to contribute significantly to the professional world of architecture and architectural engineering. The department's architectural engineering program and curriculum are truly relevant to the needs of the country. Our graduate students are highly qualified national architectural engineers, serving the nation's ongoing commitment to urban, industrial, and economic growth. The graduate students are well-exposed to state-of-the-art content and knowledge delivery suitable to the professional needs.

The program consists of Nono Engineering and Biological Engineering majors. The department provides students with diverse education opportunities which allow them to take courses freely according to their future career and aptitude, regardless of their majors.

In the Department of Electronics Engineering, based on a basic understanding of natural sciences and a fundamental understanding of signals and systems, not only traditional engineering fields such as communication, semiconductor, analog, and digital circuits, power electronics, measurement, and control engineering, but also next-generation display, smart grid and You can study in a variety of fields including new and renewable energy, signal processing, robotics, biomedical engineering, telematics, green energy, and computer vision. In addition, the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering has a DSP laboratory equipped with the latest equipment, a capstone design room, a com-use integrated circuit design room, an embedded system laboratory, control, and system room, and a remote control laboratory, and all lecture rooms are constructed as state-of-the-art classrooms. Students can listen to lectures in a rich and comfortable environment and conduct hands-on and research using the latest equipment.

The goal of the Department of Materials Design Engineering is to educate students to be challenging and creative individuals capable of competing in global textile industries by providing knowledge-based education essential for the industry. The textile industry has been playing a key role as a leading and main industry in Korea in terms of export and employment for last decades and has been recently reformed to technology-driven industry based on a new paradigm such as smart textiles and wearable computer incorporated with strategically important technologies such as information technology(IT), nanotechnology(NT), biotechnology(BT), and culture technology(CT). To match up with this paradigm, our department pursues excellence in producing experts required for the high value-added textile and fashion industry by innovating the curriculum on smart textile fields fused with IT, NT, and BT such as digital textile printing, textile CAD, and wearable computer, etc. Graduates with a master's and/or a doctoral degree have working for research institutes and companies relating to textile materials, manufacturing, finishing, planning, trade, distribution, etc.

Graduate programs in the Department of Mechanical Design and Robot Engineering allow professionals to lead in future convergence technology based on an understanding of precision machine systems and electronic control. In the programs, the research in state-of-the-art mechanical design and mechatronics has been performed. In the state-of-the-art mechanical design program, research centers on intelligent design, CAD/CAM/CAE, nano-micro systems, micro-manufacturing, and energy engineering.

Chemical engineering is a field of academia which takes the fundamental scientific knowledge of areas related to natural phenomena including chemistry, physics and biology, and applying and industrializing such knowledge for the convenience of human civilization.

The Department of Industrial Management Engineering effectively studies, reasonably designs, and improves complicated systems such as humans, machines, information, and networks producing excellent things and service. Using optimization, information, and integration methods in all business areas of the industrial system including production, manufacture, communication, and service, it intends, through a quantitative model based on mathematics, statistics, and computer engineering, to solve problems in manufacturing or production systems as well as decision-making problems in business.

A person who has obtained a bachelor's degree from a domestic or foreign university, or is expected to acquire it before February 28, 2021 A person who is recognized as having an academic background equivalent to or higher than that according to other related laws

Recently, the social importance of industrial security and disaster safety is increasing. Accordingly, the Graduate School of Industrial Security and Safety aims to cultivate high-quality experts in industrial security and disaster safety through systematic and in-depth practical training programs. Anyone with a bachelor's degree can apply regardless of major, and after completion of the course, a master's degree in industrial security (MIS) or a master's degree in disaster safety (MDS) is awarded.
